Lauren's First Santa Party

Last weekend we did our traditional "Santa Party". Our friend's dad dresses up like Santa and shows up in a grand affair on a fire truck. Here are some pictures from the event.

First Halloween

It was Lauren's first Halloween. As you know, she's a little too young to go trick or treating to gather candy, but we still felt the need to dress her up for the evening.

All dressed up.

Back to Work

I have re-entered the work environment this has made me think about the things I really enjoy about working and then the things I don’t enjoy so much about it. Here is my list.

Missed:
Going to lunch without having to cart around a car seat
Having adult interaction
Going to Campus Corner across the street for my afternoon diet Coke fix
Listening to CNN on XM radio in the morning

Didn’t Miss
Listening to random cell phone conversations of strangers peeing in the stall next to me
Contact with germs (yes, I got sick my second day back to work)
Getting up early in the morning
Looking at skinny girls with fake boobs

That’s all for now.

Lauren's First Visit to Utah

I took advantage of my last week of maternity leave and went to visit Carrie, my sister up in Utah. So Lauren and I packed our bags and headed to the north. Here are a few pictures from our adventures.
Teagan and Lauren hanging out together on the couch.

Tristyn loved playing with the babies, she so badly wanted to hold Lauren. Here they are together, Tristyn has such a sweet little face.

Carrie and I found Teagan and Lauren like this on the floor, we figured they were both trying to spell their last name. They were off to a good start beginning with a "T".

All three of them hanging out on the floor.

Saturday Night Movie

Last night Daniel and I decided to watch 'Marley and Me'...big mistake. I thought it was going to an evening of laughter watching a jovial movie about a dog wrecking havoc on his owner's life. I completely disregarded my own rule of not watching movies with dogs in them as they always turn out the same in the end...the dog dies. This is one of the main reasons why I have still yet to see 'I am Legend'. After crying like a baby I turn to Dan and ask him if he liked the movie he responded, "I only want to watch movies where people die not dogs or babies". Well said.

After the movie I had to love and kiss Mattie more than usual. She is the sweetest and best dog I have ever met. So this is to my sweet baby Roux, the namesake of this blog.

Labor Day Weekend in Tucson

This past weekend we packed up the car and headed down to Tucson to visit Dan's parents, Dan's sister Tanya and son Dylan who were both in town from Denver. On Saturday Grandma JoJo made arrangements for Dylan and Lauren to have their picture taken together. It didn't quite work out as planned as Dylan kept hiding behind the backdrop, he wasn't too interested in sitting next to his cousin to have his picture taken. However we got great pictures of both Lauren and Dylan individually. Maybe someday we'll be able to get them in a picture together.

Lauren is ready for her photoshoot.

Dylan was having a good time with Uncle Dan in the pool.

Lauren hanging out with her Auntie Tanya.

While we were there we visited Daniel's Grandma, Meme.

Lauren loves her Grandma JoJo to rub her back, she was in heaven.

We asked Lauren if she was ready to leave this is how she responded.

New Addition to our family

Finally my first post. Yay! After a slightly complicated delivery Lauren Olivia Tyrrell was finally born on July 14, 2009, at 1:32 p.m. weighing 6 lbs 4 oz and measuring 20 inches long.

Daniel with Lauren just minutes after she was born.

Lauren had a small cut so she had to be sent to the NICU at Desert Banner. This is her hooked up to the IV, poor little thing.

Lauren's first days at home.
Mattie is very intrigued with her. I think she's more interested in smelling the diaper...blech.

After her first bath.

Lauren with her cousin Teagan, they are three months apart.

She has quite a concerned look on her face.

One of her first smiles caught on camera.

Reading Olivia with Daddy.
Do you thinks she looks like Mommy or Daddy?
